I) 1. Foot and Mouth Disease- Control program.
A “Prophylactic vaccination of animals against Foot & Mouth Disease under Govt. of India’s Foot and Mouth Disease- Control program are performed to achieve National objective of FMD Mukht Bharat.
II) 2. Computerization of records & development of Software for Government Veterinary Institutions of Animal Husbandry & Govt. Animal Welfare organization Chandigarh:-
A ‘Modular Based Web Application Software’ is being used for Digitalization/ Computerization of records of all the Veterinary Hospitals and Veterinary Sub Cenrtes, for quick disposal of work and maintenance of transparency in the functioning of Veterinary Institutions..
III) 3. Animal Ambulance:-
Animal Ambulance Services are provided to the residents and Pet owners of Chandigarh and catering to their needs of transportation of sick/ injured animals for treatment to nearby Government Veterinary Hospitals.
Other Important Achievements/ Activities
- Anti Rabies Vaccine Camps are organized from time to time.
- SPCA a Govt. Welfare Organization is being run under the control of Animal Husbandry Department with Worthy Deputy Commissioner as its President for the welfare / rehabilitation of stray/ ownerless animals.
