Main Activities

Around 8.0 lakh fish seed is being produced every year at Fish Seed Farm, which is stocked in Sukhna Lake and check dam of Forest Department. Migratory birds also enjoy the fingerlings of fish stocked by the department.
Various programmes to educate rural people regarding fish culture, angling and aquarium keeping hobby are taken up by the department.
The department also helps the Research scholars of Zoology Department of Punjab University.
Maintains Aquarium installed at public places.
Supply Gambusia fish to malaria wing of Health Department for prevention and control of malaria.
