Animal Welfare Organisation

1. A State Level Animal Welfare Board, Chandigarh has been set up under the Chairmanship of Advisor to Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh for promotion of Animal Welfare generally and to protect animals from being subjective to un-necessary pain or suffering.
2. Govt. Animal Welfare Organization namely 'Society for Welfare of Animals', Sector-38, Chandigarh has been constituted for the welfare of animals andprevention of cruelity against them. It is a government run Animal Shelter & Infirmary at Sector 38 West, Chandigarh. It provides treatment, as well as shelter to the sick/ injured stray animals. It consists of two Resident Veterinarians and other supporting staff for the treatment & rehabilitation of sick stray animals. SPCA also provides service for lifting the sick & injured small animals in case of emergency.
